Shakti Organisation Rayagada is implementing an important initiative to promote healthy growth, nutrition, and joyful learning among pre-school children from poor and marginalised families in Birupai, Gumaguda, Pedaguda, and Palkidanga villages of Ramanaguda Block, and Kulliguda and Tarlabadi villages of Rayagada Block Rayagada District, under the Pre-School and Nutrition Programme, with support from Jiv Daya Foundation.Every day, children attending the pre-school receive hot milk and biscuits to improve their daily nutrition, encourage regular attendance, and create a healthy and joyful learning environment.
Each child also receives 26 kg of rice and 4 kg of pulses twice a year, with the first instalment during February–March and the second during August–September. On 25 and 27 August 2026, the second instalment was distributed to 157 households, comprising 3,925 kg of rice and 628 kg of green peas.
