Shakti Organisation, under the REWARD Project in Buria, Sambalpur, is supporting rural farmers to develop mushroom cultivation as a profitable and sustainable livelihood.
Building on last month’s initial stage, Mr. Girigordharcha Pata of Hatiari MWS has now progressed to the active production stage with its 200 mushrooms showing healthy and abundant mushroom growth. The enterprise is investing in high-yielding and resource development and effective management of the growing units.
The Shakti team continues regular field visits, providing technical guidance on moisture management, hygiene, ventilation, disease prevention and harvesting practice.
Building on the promising production and growing market potential, Mr. Patra is preparing to expand from 200 to 1,000 beds. The enterprise is already generating income and strengthening his confidence in mushrooms farming as a viable business.
